Product Benefits

ZENAPAX® (daclizumab) is the first humanized mAb for renal organ transplantation. Its development heralded a new age for mAbs in the prevention of organ rejection and represented a new step forward in establishing humanized mAb technology as an integral part of the immunosuppressive regimen.

Monoclonal antibodies (mAbs) have proven their usefulness in the diagnosis of infectious diseases, the treatment of cancer and acute solid organ rejection, and the prevention of coronary artery disease. The evolution of mAbs continues as the scientific ability to engineer proteins to meet specific needs improves.

This evolution can be seen clearly in the area of immunosuppressive therapy for solid organ transplantation. MAbs are now designed with both greater ability to target specific, pre-selected aspects of T-lymphocyte activation and reduced potential for immunogenicity.

ZENAPAX offers:

  • Significantly reduced acute rejection at 6 months
  • Improved patient survival up to 3 years
  • No increase in lymphomas up to 3 years
  • Incidence of adverse events similar to placebo
