Important Safety and Prescribing Information

Dosing 

Recommended dose: 1.0 mg/kg5

  • Mix calculated volume with 50 mL of sterile 0.9% sodium chloride solution.
  • Administer via a peripheral or central vein over a 15-minute period.

Standard course of therapy: 5 doses5

  • Administer first dose no more than 24 hours before transplantation.
  • Administer four remaining doses at intervals of 14 days.

No dosage adjustment is necessary for these patients:5

  • With severe renal impairment
  • Based on other identified covariates (age, gender, proteinuria, race)

ZENAPAX® (daclizumab) is not for direct injection5

  • Dilute in 50 mL of sterile 0.9% sodium chloride solution before intravenous administration.

  • When mixing, gently invert the bag in order to avoid foaming; DO NOT SHAKE. Care must be taken to assure sterility, since the drug product does not contain any antimicrobial preservative or bacteriostatic agents.

  • ZENAPAX is a colorless solution provided as a single-use vial; any unused portion should be discarded. Inspect visually for particulate matter and discoloration before administration. If particulate matter is present or the solution is colored, do not use.

  • Once infusion is prepared, administer within 4 hours. If it must be held up to 24 hours, refrigerate between 2o and 8o C (36o to 46o F). After 24 hours, the prepared solution should be discarded.
